Well, I have some slightly belated news.
Book Two of The Thimblewick Mysteries is officially out now!
In fact, The Vanished Sampler has been out for a little while, quietly solving mysteries and causing trouble while I apparently forgot that blogs are supposed to be updated occasionally.
But we are here now, and that is what matters.
Welcome Back to Thimblewick
The Vanished Sampler returns to the village of Thimblewick, where life inside The Stitchery is rarely as peaceful as it first appears.
There are sewing machines to repair, customers to help, family disagreements to referee and, naturally, another mystery that refuses to leave the Thimble family alone.
When a treasured antique sampler disappears, what begins as a puzzling theft soon develops into something far more complicated.
Fortunately, the Thimbles have never been very good at minding their own business.
Unfortunately, they are not always very good at investigating quietly either.
Granny Thimble has opinions.
Grandpa Bobbin has theories.
Uncle Seam Ripper has enthusiasm.
And Sir Whiskers remains convinced that every important development would benefit from his personal involvement.
Familiar Faces, New Trouble
The family are still wonderfully chaotic, The Stitchery is still the heart of village life, and Sir Whiskers is still Sir Whiskers – which is both reassuring and mildly exhausting.
There are new characters to meet, old secrets to uncover and plenty of sewing-related mischief along the way.
You do not need to know anything about sewing to enjoy the books, although anyone who has ever lost a needle, tangled a bobbin or argued with a temperamental machine may feel particularly at home.
Have You Read Book One Yet?
The Vanished Sampler can be enjoyed as its own mystery, but I would recommend beginning with Book One, The Poisoned Cup, so you can meet the family properly and experience their adventures from the beginning.
The books in the series so far are:
Book One: The Poisoned Cup
Book Two: The Vanished Sampler
And yes, Book Three is on its way.
More about that very soon.
For now, though, I hope you enjoy returning to Thimblewick.
Just keep an eye on your sewing basket.
And perhaps count the silverware before Sir Whiskers leaves the room.
